CLASSES: CCW Permit Classes

Note: Our New and Renew CCW Classes are approved for the following Counties: Nevada, Placer, Sierra, and Yuba.

In order to provide the most efficient CCW Class experience, we request that all CCW students start here to select a CCW class.

After you obtain a CCW Permit, you might want to improve your handgun skills with our Defensive Handgun Class – “B-Prepared”.

CCW Prep Class – Prepare for a New or Renew CA CCW Permit – $45.00 2 hours

Are you getting ready to take a New or Renewal CCW Class? Are you sure you can pass the Course of Fire? If you are unsure and need assistance getting ready for your Class, this 2 hour preparation class is for you. After a safety review, shooting drills will hone your skills to become a more accurate shooter. At the end of this class, you will fire a qualifying target – and – if you pass, you will not be required to re-shoot during your New or Renew Class.

Equipment Required

  • All handguns you wish to list on your permit (max. 3)
  • Eye & Ear Protection
  • At least 50 rounds of manufactured jacketed ammunition for each gun†

*NOTE:  Attending any CCW permit class sponsored by The Range does not in any way guarantee receipt of a CCW permit. The issuing of a CCW permit is subject to your local authority and may be accepted or refuted at their discretion**.  If the attendee is ineligible or denied, The Range will not issue a refund for the course.

†You need 50 rounds of manufactured jacketed ammo to practice with the gun of your choice, then 30 rounds jacketed ammunition for qualification for each gun.  If you are bringing more than one firearm, you must bring ammunition for all of the calibers you need to qualify.  The course of fire may be viewed here.

** IAW CA Attorney General Legal Alert of June 24,2022:  “… effective immediately, issuing authorities should no longer require proof of good cause for the issuance of a public-carry license. Issuing authorities may still inquire into an applicant’s reasons for desiring a license to the extent those reasons are relevant to other lawful considerations, but denial of a license for lack of “good cause” now violates the Second and Fourteenth Amendments under the Supreme Court’s decision in Bruen.”
